Publishing Scope

  • Christian and devotional books against the background of both tradition and modernizing change and adaptation within a broad perspective of Christian humanism or even Christian socialism. And more strictly liturgical and catechetical literature; i.e. books and booklets of various kinds at the service of evangelisation and these are in collaboration with other Catholic publishers in Africa.

  • Books leading to a better understanding and appreciation of civilisation as reflected in its historical background, its unique culture and its religious and moral expression, both traditional and Christian, and fusing these into a meaningful ecumenism (all this in a popular form as well as through scientific and scholarly research and analysis).

  • Books that focus critically on the state of the nation, its social norms, its economic develoment, and its politics, as well as constantly assessing church-state relations in close collaboration with other catholic church commissions and departments, especially those of the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC).

  • Pamphlets and occasional papers focusing more specifically and technically on topics of national reconstruction and development.

  • Creative writing especially in three main languages, Shona, Ndebele, and English, in the form of the novel, the short story, the play and poetry as well as children's books our (Dandaro readers series).
